Learn the four roles
Duelists make space and take fights, controllers block sightlines with smokes, initiators gather information and clear angles, and sentinels lock down sites and flanks. A team that covers all four wins more than a stack of duelists.
Pick a comfort agent that fills a need
Start with one agent per role you understand, then pick based on what the team lacks. If nobody smokes, take the controller even if it is not your main, because the team without smokes loses control of the map.
Quick tips
- Communicate utility: call your smokes, flashes, and recon so teammates use them.
- Do not all pick duelists; someone has to set up the site take.
- Learn one agent deeply before spreading across many.
- Default to a balanced comp on a new map until you know the angles.
